Simply Light Designs Trail Lair

The Trail Lair is a symmetrical gathered-end hammock with a fully integrated, retractable bug net. Four zipper pulls allow you to create two separate openings anywhere along the length of the hammock, making it easy to enter, exit, or adjust gear without completely opening the net.

This flexibility is especially useful for hammock campers using an underquilt, since both sides of the hammock can be accessed independently.

Sizing and Fit

Fabric width and personal preference also affect comfort.

Trail Lair Specific Options

Netting Type

.9 No-See-Um — More durable, with thicker filaments and larger openings.

.7 Nano-See-Um — Lighter weight, with finer filaments and a tighter weave for areas with very small insects.

Zipper Size

#3 YKK — Smaller and lighter weight.

#5 YKK — Larger, more durable, and easier to operate while wearing gloves.

Bivy Mode Tie-Outs 

Allow the bug net to be suspended above the hammock when using the Trail Lair as a ground bivy.

Important: Structural Ridgeline Requirements

The Trail Lair is designed to be used with a structural ridgeline at all times. Damage caused by removing or not using the required structural ridgeline is not covered under warranty.

Check the ridgeline periodically for slack. If slack develops, please contact me.
