Sierra Stealth 40°F Wide Wearable Summer Camping Quilt

The Sierra Stealth is a wearable summer down quilt — wrap up in it like a serape on a cool desert or alpine night, then form the footbox and sleep in it as a top quilt, in a hammock or on the ground. Comfort-rated to 40°F, it's our lightest wearable: a sew-through (non-baffled) build that trims weight for warm-weather camp and trail, with easy venting and no squirming to get in and out.

Designed for the ground sleeper, it runs wide — 55 inches at the shoulders and hips to eliminate drafts — then tapers to 45 inches at a lengthened foot box for better tuck control. Six side lacing tabs secure it around a pad, and a non-snagging hook-and-loop head hole lets you wear it as a serape and re-seal it cleanly. A long version (86 inches) is available for campers over 5'10".

Shell & down: 850 fill power, RDS-certified, with an Activ-dri hydrophobic treatment that keeps the down drier, behind our wind- and water-resistant Ion 1.1 shell. (Activ-dri is still down — protect it from direct soaking like any insulation.) Over-stuffed 25% by weight to reduce down migration and hold its rating between cleanings.

Footbox: Formed with a drawcord, cord-locks, and double-sided Kam Snaps — leave it flat as a blanket for venting or cinch a foot box.

Stacks with other quilts: Any Big Meadows or Wearable quilt of the same length snaps to any other, so a Sierra Stealth 40° layers with a Sierra Sniveller 20° or a Big Meadows 20° into one system — and nothing stops you adding a third. Any temperature combination works, multiples of the same rating included, and there is no limit on how many you stack. Quilts made from 2019 on have the snaps; before that we used Omni Tape, which doesn't stack.

Compression sack: Sold separately (many campers now keep quilts dry in a contractor or trash-compactor bag instead). For 40° quilts we recommend the large size.
